Over six weeks you’ll start to learn Italian online: developing the skills to interact in common conversational situations. You’ll learn how to introduce yourself, answer simple questions, ask for information, and talk about your interests, food and clothes.

 

Today your guide will meet you at your accommodation and take you on an awe inspiring walking tour of ancient Rome, including the entrance to the Colosseum, which is the largest Ancient Amphitheatre in the world and The Roman Forum. This was the scene of public meetings, law courts, and gladiatorial combats in republican times.

Enjoy a guided tour of two world-renowned attractions and Vatican city's pride and glory: the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Scout through the magnificent Vatican Museums and peruse the crucial collections of the 54 galleries. Pass by the Greek Cross Room, the Gallery of the Candelabra, the Gallery of the Muses and much more.

This afternoon enjoy touring many of the other highlights of Rome under your teachers' discretion.

For the next three days you'll be under the guidance of Lorenza and his excellent Cooking School

Activities and classes will include:-

Visits to The Farmers’ market, with tasting

Truffle hunting with Giovanni and Chris the dog

Umbrian BBQ at Casale Polegri

2 Café and snacks

Butchery workshop and salami tasting

Grape harvest and grape stomping

2 cookery classes with lunch or dinners

3 meals with drinks

 

Today you'll visit the stunning city of Assisi, which is a hill town in the Umbria Region. Enjoy a guided tour of the massive Basilica of St. Francis which is a 2-level church built in the 13th century. Its frescoes portraying the life of one of Italy's patron Saints, St. Francis have been attributed to Giotto and Cimabue, among others.

Check out of your hotel and travel to Pompeii and explore the fascinating ancient city of Pompeii with an expert guide on this guided tour. Walk through the cobblestone streets to see the ruins of the forum, bathhouse and  individual homes. Gain fascinating insight into the tragedy of the city from the AD 79 eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

Travel on from Pompeii to Sorrento on the Amalfi Coast where you'll spend the next two nights.

Today travel by coach to Positano and visit this stunning cliffside village on southern Italy's Amalfi Coast. Its Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta features a majolica-tiled dome and a 13th-century Byzantine icon of the Virgin Mary. Carry onto Gragnano for a tour of a pasta factory.

 

Today check out of your hotel and travel to Pisa where you can enjoy a 2 hour guided walking tour of the city best known for its iconic Leaning Tower. Already tilting when it was completed in 1372, the 56m white-marble cylinder is the bell tower of the Romanesque, striped-marble cathedral that rises next to it in the Piazza dei Miracoli.

Spend the next two nights in Florence exploring the city under the discretion of your teachers.

Enjoy a guided tour around the Accademia Gallery in Florence, most famous for its sculpture of David by Michelangelo. 

Check out of your hotel and head to Bologna, known by many as the "culinary capital of Italy". In Bologna, you'll spend the day at FICO Eataly World where you'll learn about, and experience the behind-the-scenes creation of Italian food and drink.  Eataly World is the first food park in the world, which brings the experience of food from its origins to the plate on the table while stimulating all five senses and combining a passion for flavours and fun.

Travel on to Venice and take a private boat to your accommodation on Venice Lido where you'll spend the next two nights.

Take the Venice vaporetti to the main island and meet your guide who'll take you on your tour of Venice. Here you delve into Venetian history and includes a tour around Doge's Palace, where you'll explore this masterpiece of Gothic architecture, which is an impressive structure composed of layers of building elements and ornamentation from its 14th and 15th century original foundations to the significant Renaissance and opulent Mannerist adjunctions.

Spend the afternoon exploring the rest of Venice under your teachers' guidance.
